A “Carta Educativa de Coimbra -2.ª Geração”, documento estratégico para o setor que entra em debate esta quarta-feira, prevê investimentos que ascendem a 116 milhões de euros, em manutenção, reabilitação e construção de novos estabelecimentos da rede pública, do pré-escolar ao secundário. Inclui também, embora num prazo que se estende a 2030, a “refuncionalização” da Jaime Cortesão para Escola das Artes e a reabilitação da José Falcão.
Nova Carta Educativa prevê investimento de 116 milhões
Volvidos 16 anos da primeira, a segunda carta educativa de Coimbra vai ser debatida pelo Conselho Municipal de Educação num contexto totalmente diferente, já sem, por exemplo, contratos de associação com o ensino particular e cooperativo, mas com responsabilidades acrescidas para o Município, que com a transferência de competências da administração central ganha força na definição da estratégia local, tendo a autarquia assumido na totalidade a reorganização da rede escolar local, naturalmente articulada com a política educativa nacional. Desde já definiu, numa lógica de proximidade, manter todas as escolas do concelho em funcionamento.
Com “alta ou muito alta prioridade” (1.ª fase da reorganização) surge a criação de duas novas escolas de ensino pré-escolar e 1.º ciclo, na Portela e Quinta das Nogueiras, cada qual com previsão de oito milhões de euros de investimento. Ao contrário do 2.º e 3.º ciclos do ensino básico e secundário, com excedente de oferta, o pré-escolar e 1.º ciclo apresentam défice de salas, em particular no setor urbano, estando também previstas a ampliação da escolas básicas de Santa Apolónia e de Eiras.
